Financial Aid Director

The Financial Aid Director provides financial aid services to students at a campus level. Job duties include; conduct student needs analysis, perform federal verification and packaging of student aid, certify federal loan eligibility, provide financial aid/veterans counseling, make professional judgment decisions regarding student aid eligibility, adjudicate satisfactory academic progress appeals, provide group presentations, and facilitate problem-solving with students and parents. The FA Director will provide leadership and program management for an area of specialization, such as loans, grants, veterans benefits, work-study, scholarships/institutional grants, systems support, and customer service/consumer information. They will interact with federal and state agencies, lenders, guarantee agencies, loan servicers, employers, vendors, social service agencies, high schools and post-secondary institutions. Incumbents in this job classification are accountable for ensuring compliance with federal regulations and safeguarding the institution's eligibility to participate in Title IV Programs.


  • Considerable knowledge of federal financial aid programs and supporting regulations.
  • Considerable knowledge of Title IV program fund regulations.
  • May need considerable knowledge of Federal and State Veterans Administration regulations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Education rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of current tax regulations and the implications of such regulations on financial aid.
  • Knowledge of effective supervisory methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge and understanding of default management and cohort default rates.
  • Skill in researching regulatory information and resolving complex financial questions.
  • Skill in operating a computer and various supporting software packages.
  • Skill in computing complex mathematical formulas.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex regulations and policies to a diverse audience, both in one-on-one sessions and group presentations.
  • Ability to defuse difficult, angry, or emotional situations with students and/or parents.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a significant caseload.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.

Admissions Representative

Finger Lakes School of Massage is looking for a Admissions Representative to join our staff at our campus in Ithaca, NY .

The Admissions Representative is the first contact with prospective students and will be responsible for setting quality first-time appointments, conducting professional interviews, providing first-class tours that represent the school in the best manner, and enrolling and starting students in our Massage Therapy program.

Job Duties Include:

  • Interfacing with prospective students.
  • Making outbound, and receiving inbound calls from prospective students.
  • Participate in and develop off Campus events.
  • Following up on new and continuing students to assist with retention.
  • Maintaining accurate student files, both paper and electronically, while remaining compliant with State, Department of Education, and accreditation regulations.
  • Some evenings and weekends required.

Clinic Supervisor

This flexible part-time position is responsible for supervising the student clinics held during the FLSM’s massage program. This position involves ensuring the FLSM container is upheld and giving feedback on the massage performed in alignment with the style and content taught by FLSM. The position actively works with the following: Students, Staff, and Clients. Must be student-centered. Hours are dependent on the type and number of clinics supervised. Kines teacher

Dynamic, caring educator wanted for instruction in science at Finger Lakes School of Massage. Experience with adult learners and multiple learning styles desired. The ideal candidate possesses willingness to: learn, grow, develop and execute creative lessons, give and receive feedback and work successfully as a team.
