Active Isolated Stretching: Ankle/Foot, Upper Back, and Thoracic Spine – Ithaca

Active Isolated Stretching: The Mattes Method and The Graffenberg Method has been shown to be a fast, safe, and thorough modality. It can noticeably and often radically increase range-of-motion/flexibility, correct posture, and address a multitude of fascial, muscle, skeletal, and neurological conditions and diseases. In this hands-on class, students will observe demonstrations and then exchange the demonstrated work with other students.This is a great opportunity for students to learn and receive great work. Students with unresolved injuries may volunteer for demonstrations by instructor. Attendees will get a feel of how to effectively use AIS in their practice. Students may take one, two, or all three days and may attend future classes to make up for any day(s) not taken.James Graffenberg L.M.T., C.P.T., 2000 graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage, studied extensively with Aaron Mattes L.K.T., L.M.T. developer of Active Isolated Stretching (AIS).
