Deep Massage: The Lauterstein Method Intensive

May 12, 2017

The Deep Massage Intensive covers the entire content of David Lauterstein’s The Deep Massage Book: How to Combine Structure and Energy in Bodywork, reviewed as “the most innovative bodywork book in the last 30 years (Bob King).”  Students will learn to work smarter not harder.  Increasingly research is showing us that pain is coming from the nervous system and that tension similarly is neurological rather than muscular in origin.  Deep Massage will give you a way to systematically work with energy (nervous system) as well as structure (myofascia).  We will cover all the basic Deep Massage theory as well giving you 28 new techniques for the legs, pelvis, back, front torso, shoulders, arms, neck and head. This class is also open to past students of Deep Massage who will also learn new fulcrums for the working in the side-lying position, as well as advanced work for the iliopsoas, deep lateral rotators, the rotator cuff, and the neck.David Lauterstein, LMT, MTI, Cert. ZB, TLC School Co-Director, has been in massage and bodywork practice since 1977 and has become one of the most highly respected international educators in the massage therapy realm – inducted in 2011 into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame, honored as the 2012 recipient of AMTA’s Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year Award, and in 2013 by the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education as “Educator of the Year.”  David regularly teaches in England and throughout the U.S since 1982.
