Free Evening Lecture Series: Intro to Biodynamic Craniosacral Work
December 4 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Are you interested in craniosacral work? Come to this free experiential evening.
This is a modality that engages with the stillness that is at the center of all living processes, thereby strengthening and unifying them, so that the body’s inherent healing mechanism is activated and health flows freely. The practitioner “tunes into” the profound stillness and silence that exists “below the noise” – within and all around us – and by using a gentle touch, they can help the client to do it too.
What happens during a session is that the parts of the body that feel separated or fragmented (“problem areas”) get reconnected with the whole. Also, energy (which we call Potency) slowly builds in the body, which then brings in subtle waves of healing sensations. This potency does the work of reconnecting and reintegrating the fragmented parts.
We are connecting to the body’s natural method of healing itself when at rest (for example, this can happen in deep sleep and certain meditative states), and for that reason we call it the Inherent Healing Mechanism – an umbrella term that covers all body-tissue healing, mind calming, and emotional balancing.
This is also an excellent modality to integrate into massage sessions because it can heighten your perception, so you better know what to do next, and can enhance your client’s ability to relax. (Clients often say “it’s been a long time since I’ve been that relaxed.”)
