Taylor Techniques: Myofascial Approaches to Headache & Neck Treatment – Ithaca
September 16, 2017
Treating a headache client successfully requires sensitivity in palpation, and knowledge of the structures that contribute to this nagging disorder. Understanding the anatomy of both the anterior & posterior cervical region, biomechanics of the cervical spine, and head & shoulder position, is important to establishing a positive outcome for the patient. This workshop delves into treatment techniques directed specifically at correcting faulty alignment in the cervical region, which has an "unwinding" effect on the head and neck musculature as well as the TMJ. Specific modalities will be shown for the temporomandibular joint, as well as the cranium, in a sequence which will feel seamless and natural for the therapist to apply in practice.Following completion of a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia, Carrie Taylor attended the prestigious West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver to complete a 3500 hour Massage Therapy program.
