Pain Science is showing us that pain is created by the nervous system. Pain doesn’t originate in the tissues - nor does relaxation! So an important new bodywork focus is to ask ourselves - how do we optimize our positive impact on the nervous system (aka energy) as well as the muscle-skeletal system? In this talk and demo, David Lauterstein, author of Putting the Soul Back in the Body, The Deep Massage Book and the forthcoming Life in the Bones from Upledger Institute, will share some critical insights from his 40 years of bodywork experience and as an instructor of anatomy, Structural Bodywork, Deep Massage and Zero Balancing.
David Lauterstein is one of the most highly respected international educators in the massage therapy realm – inducted in 2011 into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame, 2012 recipient of AMTA’s Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year Award, and recognized in 2013 by the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education as “Educator of the Year.” David regularly teaches in England and throughout the U.S since 1982. His background prior to massage therapy was in philosophy and music composition (BA, U of Illinois, 1972).
