Massage for Labor & Childbirth

For a pregnant mother the childbearing cycle can be both transformative and blissful but can also be extremely challenging. Providing massage to a laboring mother is a beautiful and sacred offering. Massage during labor can provide relief, reduce pain, create ease and offer emotional support to the mother.
In a caring and nurturing environment, we will explore positioning and massage techniques that will ease the discomforts of labor. During this one-day workshop, students will gain:

  • A deeper understanding of the physiology of labor and childbirth
  • Understand the physical and hormonal shifts during labor
  • Students will learn techniques that offer relief and support during all three stages of labor
  • Acupressure points, reflex points, and hydrotherapy will be covered
  • Positioning, massage techniques and comfort measures will be practiced
  • Contraindications will be discussed
